Molecular and empirical

What is the difference between the molecular formula and the emberical formula?

A molecular formula specifies that actual number of atoms of each element in one molecule or formula unit of the substance. The empirical formula provided by the ratios of the smallest whole number ratios. The EF of a compound is the formula with the smallest whole number mole ratio of the elements.

one is a raition of the number and the other is the number of the element.
