The difference between cation and anion is the charge. Cation is an atom with a positive charge. Anion has a negitive charge.

They are different because of their charges. An anion has a negative charge. While a cation has a postive charge. That is how they are different.

cations are positively charged ions. anions are negatively charded ions the cation is first and the anion is second in an ionic bond.

An anion is an ion that has a negative charge, and a cation is an ion that has a positive charge. In an ionic bond a cation is first, and an anion is second.
